Walking in dominion (2)
“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet:” Ps 8:6.
The above scripture describes man’s kingship over all other created beings. Man was created to rule over all the animals, birds and the fishes and over all other creatures. Though man lost the dominion by the fall at Genesis 3, God renewed this blessing again with man after the flood. “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth [upon] the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.” Ge 9:1-2. Thank God for His great Mercy, this lost dominion at the Garden of Eden was fully restored back to man through our Lord Jesus Christ (Hb 2:6-8).
Why we should exercise dominion
1. It is God’s command, and it is good to obey the commandments of God. Ge 1:26, Ps 119:1.
2. God created us in His own image. He made us to have dominion over all things. Ge 1:27-28.
3. To destroy the works of the devil. Satan took control over this world when Adam fell. Jesus came to restore the lost dominion back to man. 1Jn 3:8.
“The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Ps 24:1. This earth God has handed over to man to rule. Since the First Man, Adam lost the dominion, Jesus Christ, the Second or Last Adam came to restore the dominion to us. You too can be begin to rule or dominate in every area of your life as from today. However you need Jesus to be able to live a life of dominion. Come to Jesus today, confess him as your Lord and Saviour and begin to follow him.
Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I confess you now as my Lord and Saviour. I want to follow you all the remaining days of my life. Help me to do this, dear Lord. Help me also to begin to walk in dominion power and authority as from today. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers.”
