The blessing of obeying God (2)

“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people…” Ex 19:5

To be God’s peculiar treasure is the greatest thing that can happen to someone. It is far greater than the highest national honour of any country. And this is attainable through obedience to God.

Blessings of Obedience
1. God will fight your enemy, Ex 23:22
2. Obedience improves our worship and relationship with God, Jn 14:22-23
3. Obedience helps us to be successful, Jos 1:8
4. Obedience invites God’s blessings into our lives, Dt 28:1-14
5. Obedience demonstrates our love for Christ, Jn 14-15
6. Obedience demonstrates our faith in God, 1 Jn 2:3–6
7. Obedience will give you rest, Mt 11:28-29

Trust and Obey (hymn):
When we walk with the Lord 
in the light of his word, 
what a glory he sheds on our way! 
While we do his good will, 
he abides with us still, 
and with all who will trust and obey. 

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way 
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. 

Prayer
O God my Father, give me the grace to obey you in all things.
