Submission to the Will of God (1)

I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart. Ps 40:8 NKJV

Submission to the will of God is important in our lives as Christians. Great saints in the Bible who inspire us in our walk with God totally submitted to the will of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Mt 6:10 NKJV. This greatly underlines the importance of submission to God’s will in the lives of His children. In our Christian journey, there are some heights we can never climb or some depths we can never reach in the spiritual until we totally submitted to the will of God.

Abraham Submitted and Obeyed God
In Ge 12:1-9, God called Abraham and he obeyed. When God called Abraham to go out, He didn’t give him any destination. “Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.” Ge 12:1. NKJV. Abraham submitted to God; he followed God’s leading and God blessed him and his generations as He promised. In Ge 22:1-19, God tested again the obedience of Abraham by asking him to sacrifice Isaac his promised son. Difficult as the test was, Abraham obeyed God without delay, and God provided a substitute for the sacrifice. God confirmed His blessings upon Abraham and his seeds, vv 15-18.

Abraham.and his generations were blessed due to his submission to God’s will. When you failed to submit to the will of God, the blessings attached to it may not come to you and others. “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” Jn 4:34 NKJV. Can you endure and submit yourself to God’s will?

Prayer
O God my Father, give me the grace to do your will at all times and in all things, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
