A charge for the New Year (5)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Js 1:8

The Bible is a Book of instruction, 1:8 NLT. It is a manual for life. We are to study it everyday. We are to meditate on it, and apply it to our lives. Studying the Bible helps us to have success and prosperity, and most importantly, helps us to fear the Lord, Dt 17:19. This will give our lives the needed spiritual balance as we journey into the New Year. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Ps 119:11. To avoid pursuing money at the expense of our souls, we must study the Bible regularly and apply it to our lives.

“But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Ps 1:2-3.

Make the word of God your delight this New Year and beyond. Be regular with studying the Bible just like you eat, or clean and wash yourself everyday. It is not difficult to do, all you have to do is to be disciplined, consistent about it, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you and give you the understanding of the word. “So keep the words of this covenant and obey them, so that you may prosper and be successful in everything that you do.” Dt 29:19 Amp

Prayer
Father God, I thank you for your word which is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path, Ps 119:105. Help me to read it, obey it, and find direction, peace, joy and comfort in it throughout this year and beyond, in Jesus name. Amen.
