Seeking God with Sincerity (2)
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Dt 4:2
To seek God is to desire His help, favour and fellowship always. It is also by prayer and supplication, acknowledging and confessing your sin. To seek God is by fervently devouring His word, the Bible, desiring the Holy Spirit to illuminate the words for you. “When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”” Ps 27:8 NKJV
Nicodemus Sought Jesus Christ
Nicodemus sought Christ with sincerity, Jn 3:1-21. Nicodemus risked his position and status as a Pharisee and a ruler of the Jews by coming to Jesus for spiritual enlightenment. He faced ridicules or expulsions if seen by the day, so he went by night. Nevertheless, he took steps to find Jesus. Even though he was a leader, Nicodemus acknowledged the authority of Jesus by calling him ‘Sir’. Later when the body of Jesus was to be buried, we saw Nicodemus teamed up with Joseph of Arimathea and came out boldly to perform the burial, Jn 19:38-39.
Take steps also today to begin to seek God sincerely; don’t let anything hinder you. The blessings are many.
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” Ps 145:18-19 NKJV
“The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” Ps 34:10
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Mt 6:33 NKJV
Prayer
O God my Father, remove every hindrances in my life to seeking you with sincerity; let the blessings of seeking you come into my life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
