Seeking God with Sincerity (1)
I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me. Pr 8:17 NKJV
God wants us to seek Him earnestly, with sincerity and faith. He pronounced blessings on the those who seek His righteousness. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.” Mt 5:6 NKJV. Man may deceive others with religious piety, but God that sees into the hearts of men is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, Heb 11:6. During the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, some followed him not because they believed, but because they ate bread and fish, and Jesus corrected them, Jn 6:26-27.
Josiah Restored True Worship
Josiah was eight years old when he became the king of Judah, 2Ch 34:1-33. He started following God early in his life and forsook the evil and idolatrous ways of his father Amon and grandfather Manasseh. He restored Judah to the true worship of Jehovah God. “For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images.” vv 3. God’s promise to Josiah was,.“…Surely I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the calamity which I will bring on this place and its inhabitants.” 2Ch 34:27-28
“…The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.” 2Ch 15:2. It is to our great benefits when we seek God sincerely. Let us begin to seek God with all our hearts today.
Prayer
O God my Father, revive my heart like king Josiah; help me to begin to seek you with all sincerity from today. Let me not leave any stone unturned in my hunger and thirst for you, in Jesus name. Amen.
