Repent and live

“But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed… he shall surely live, he shall not die.” Ez 18:21

God is merciful. His judgement deals with each man according to his present state, not his past. When a sinner repents and submits to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over his life, all his past are wiped out by God. “Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away…” 2Co 5:17.

In 1 Kings 21, the judgement of God came upon king Ahab of Israel and his descendants for murdering Naboth. It was a death sentence delivered by the prophet Elijah. ‘When Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted…” 1Ki 21:27. As a result, God told the prophet: “Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days….” 1K1 21:29.

Like Ahab, turn from your sin today. Make Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour.
