Praying your ways through challenges with hymns and songs (1)
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God…
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” Ac 16:25-26
Challenges are obstacles are difficulties of life. It is only the dead that don’t have challenges. Holy men also have challenges. Paul and Silas, while preaching the Gospel in Phillipi of Macedonia ended up being cast into the prison. Instead of being discouraged or lamenting, they sang praises to God and prayed their ways out of prison. Ac 16:16-40.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory;” 2Co 4:17. The joy of a Christian are his afflictions or challenges. How you respond during your trials is important as it is a determinant of how quickly you overcome and have testimonies. Singing praises to God and prayers will get you quicker to your testimonies, than complaining.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].” 1Co 10:13. Whatever challenges you are passing through today, someone somewhere had already experienced it. The good news is that God has already prepared a way out for you. Just sing hymns and praises to Him with prayers.
Prayer
O God my Father, help me from today to praise and magnify you instead of complaining about my problems, in Jesus name. Amen
