Make your Life Count (3)
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Is 3:10
Enoch chose to live his life for God even though there was ungodliness all around him. “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” Ge 5:24 NKJV. He saw not death, but was translated to glory. He was the first man not to taste death; the second was Elijah who went to heaven in a chariot of fire. To make your life to count for God, you must know what God delights in, and be ready to do it. “…That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.” Je 9:24 NKJV. The Bible said of Enoch, “for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hb 11:5 NKJV.
Others Who also Made their Life Count for God
1. NOAH was moved with godly fear and prepared the ark to save his household and the animals, as instructed by God. As he prepares the ark, he condemns the wickedness of his world, but no one listened to him. Ge chp 6-8, Hb 11:7.
2. CALEB and JOSHUA, among the twelve sent to spy out the promised land, stood up for God when the other ten spies gave evil reports of the land, Nu chp 13-14. The two were the only adults who entered the promised land because of their positive testimonies.
3. DAVID was a man after God’s heart, 1Sam 13:14, Ac 13:22. Except for the matter of Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife, David lived his life to honour and serve God.
4. PAUL said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2Tm 4:7 NIV. He was the most hardworking among the apostles and God used him to take the Gospel to the gentiles.
A day is coming when we will give an account of our lives before God. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.
For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.” Ec 11:13-14 NKJV. It is not too late to know God; now is a very good time to start. Confess your sins to God and invite Jesus Christ, His Holy Son, into your heart.
Prayer
My God and my Father, I receive the grace to love and serve you just like the saints mentioned above. Help me to live the remainder of my life for you, in Jesus name. Amen.
