Created for His Pleasure (1)
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Rev. 4:11
It is sad that, rather than give God pleasure today, we give ourselves pleasure. This is evident in our music, worship, dressings, and several other areas of our lives. “Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Ps 29:2. When you start to obey a manager in your workplace more than the owner of the company, you are no longer giving the owner pleasure. Nowadays, some Christians will rather obey their pastors than the word of God.
Is Your Worship Giving God Pleasure?
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Rom. 12:1NKJV. What are you doing with your hands in secrets? Worship is more than raising our hands up to sing or pray. The Bible said to lift up holy hands. “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Tim. 2:8.
“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.” Ps 24:3-4 NKJV. To give God pleasure starts from your body and lifestyles. The Bible admonished us to glorify God with our bodies, 1 Cor. 6:19-20 NKJV. When you give God pleasure with your body, you will not dress indecently, for you are the temple of God (1 Cor. 6;19). You will also not corrupt your body with drugs and alcohol; you will not make incisions on your body, and will not draw on your body abominable things.
Prayer Points
1. O God my Father, forgive me for not honouring you with my body.
2. Father God, forgive me for my life of excesses and recklessness.
3. Lord Jesus Christ, I invite you into my life today; come and take control.
