Covenant Keeping God (3)
I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Ge 9:13 NKJV
When God puts the rainbow on the sky, that was His covenant not to destroy the earth with flood again. Despite all the floods in some nations, God has not used the flood to destroy the whole earth again. Our God is a covenant keeping God. “Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Ge 9:11 NKJV. The reason Israel has not been destroyed despite all hostilities, is that God keeps His covenant with Abraham. “Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,” Ex 19:5 NIV.
God’s covenant never fails; however we can use our own hands to slow it down. We have our own part to fulfill before God’s covenant can come to pass. To activate God’s covenant for your life, you must have faith in Him. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hb 11:6 NKJV.
“The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” Ps 25:14. Let us remove all hindrances to the fulfillment of God’s covenant from our lives. Let us fear Him and obey Him. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:” Is 1:19.
