Be strong in the Lord

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ep 6:10

To ‘be strong in the Lord’ is not a suggestion, but a command to Christians. This is because we are constantly engaged in warfare with our enemy, Satan. Those days when Israel is about to go to battle with the enemy, the priest will come to address the army: “Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them.” Dt 20:2-3 NIV.

To be strong is our duty; to be weak is sin and defeat. By God’s Grace, we will not be weak. We can have strong trust, strong courage and strong endurance in the Lord as long as we maintained an uninterrupted vigourous fellowship him. “that… he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,” Ep 3:16 NKJV. It is the Holy Spirit that will help us to be strong.

“Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.” 1Co 16:13. We will remain strong and victorious, in Jesus name.
