Assurance of salvation (3)
“My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.” Jn 10:29.
Steps to take now that you have salvation
1. Find a pastor or a mentor to nurture and grow you in the faith. You need help to grow. The converts in the Acts of Apostles submitted themselves to the apostles to teach them. You can not teach yourself, Ac 5:42
2. You must take on the yoke of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Mt 11:29.
3. Find time to daily read the Bible, which is the word of God, and pray to God, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Be a faithful man. This means you should honour God with your life, body and your possessions because they all belong to God, Pr 3:9-10.
Hymn: Blessed Assurance
1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for my salvation. Father God, I thank you for sending your Only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for me, and sending your written word in the Bible; thank you for the Holy Spirit that seals my salvation. Keep me to the end, O God, in Jesus name.
